Myke and I joined our company's annual Lakaran - Walk for a Cause kanina. This is in celebration of PLDT's anniversary; the company will be donating money for every employee who registered. It was a 5.2 kilometer hike from PLDT Makati Avenue to our office in Boni, Mandaluyong. First time namin umattend ni Myke. It was really fun! Di namin ramdam yung nilakad namin at buti na lang di pa matingkad ang sikat ng araw. We started around 6:30 am and was at Boni at past 9. May free snacks, T-shirt and there was a raffle pa. Sayang, wala man lang kaming nahagip na premyo ni Myke. Hu hu hu!

After the Lakaran, nagsarili kami ng lakad ni Myke. He he! We watched New Moon. When we got to Gateway Cinema e natuwa kami kasi walang pila (maaga pa rin kasi nun) pero nung nasa counter na kami e naku! Puno na ang seats! Buti na lang meron pa rin kaming nakuha.
Is the movie worth all the hype?
Before we went in, I made a joke to Myke that most of the movie-goers will probably be teen-agers who will be swooning over Robert Pattinson. Well, di ako nagkamali. Di magkamayaw ang mga girls (and guys) kay Rob nung nag-appear na siya sa screen. Natatwa na lang kami ni Myke sa reaction ng audience :)
How was the movie? Well, for me I liked Twilight better. New Moon has more scenes with Jacob so medyo nakilala natin ang pagkatao niya. Edward decided to drop Bella when the threat of her being the family dinner escalated. Si Bella? E ayun, ewan ko. Di ko masyado type ang character niya. Siguro kasi I can't help comparing her to Sookie (True Blood). Pitted against Sookie, Bella seems very weak and helpless. Ang konti rin ng scenes ng Volturi, Dakota Fanning's character really piqued my curiosity but sad to say, di man lang ata tumagal ng 30 minutes ang scene niya. Myke was comparing the vamps in New Moon and True Blood - katulad ng pagiging fragile ng True Blood vamps sa sun whereas sila Edward (New Moon) e nagniningning lang pag natamaan ng araw. And the movie ending? Bitin! I left the movie house really dissatisfied. For me, the movie was kinda lousy (sorry, fans) - poor acting, depressing characters (except siguro for Jacob) and ang haba pa! I guess, I'll stick to True Blood and my (?) Eric :D
I think the New Moon movie is still showing at movie theaters so go watch it na lang.
